ABOUT US

Richmond Film Society was formed in 1963 and has since screened c. 750 films.

Our objective was, and remains, to bring members the very best in World Cinema.

 

WHEN DO WE SHOW FILMS?

Meetings are programmed for alternate Tuesdays,

starting at 8:00 p.m.

Season 54 runs from 20th September 2016 to 25th April 2017.

HOW DO I ENROL?

Enrolment couldn't be easier, unless membership has been closed.

Either use the link below to print off and then post an Application Form or come along in person to a screening.

If you intend to enrol at the first film of the season, Tuesday 20th September 2016,

please arrive at Room G5 by 7:45 p.m.

 

Members are accepted on a first-come first-serve basis, early postal application is advised.

WHAT DOES Membership COST AND WHAT DOES THIS ENTITLE ME TO?

Membership for Season 54 costs £60.00 (an equivalent of £4.00 per film) with a reduced rate (£35.00) for full time students and ES40s.

 

Membership gives:

(a)         free admission to all fifteen shows

(b)        free admission to the Christmas Party

(c)         programme notes for each film.

Post film audience feedback is obtained via reaction slips

(d)        details of other local arts-related events through our affiliation

with artsrichmond (RuTAC)

(e)         reciprocal non-member attendance of other local film societies

upon the showing of an RFS membership card.

CAN I ATTEND A SCREENING AS A NON-MEMBER?

Non-members are always very welcome on the night.

 

Non-member tickets are available to be purchased on the door for £6.00 a show or

for Full-Time Students & ES40s £4.00 a show.

 

In addition to Non-member tickets being available on the door they may alternatively be obtained from the Membership Secretary in advance:

Or apply by snail mail to the address on the Membership Application Form,

enclosing a stamped self-addressed envelope for the ticket's dispatch.

 

ARE REFRESHMENTS AVAILABLE?

Yes.

 

For food St Mary’s main canteen can be used up to 7:30p.m and after this time a sandwich bar is available.

 

Where would a University be without a bar?  That’s available too.

 

IF I DRIVE CAN I PARK NEAR BY?

Yes. Free car parking is available on the St Mary’s campus or local streets.

 

HOW DO I GET TO ST MARY’S USING PUBLIC Transport?

Train: Strawberry Hill Station, 5-minute walk.

Bus: 33: Alight at St Mary’s University.

R68: Alight at Michelham Gardens, 5-minute walk.
